Hi, I am Heather Nelson.


My love for photography started at a very young age.   I drove my family crazy because I was always taking pictures of everyone in the most unflattering way with my simple 110 camera.   Thankfully, God has blessed me with two talents, nursing and photography!!!   I have been a registered nurse for the last 30 years.   My passion is working with people, and I am very people-centered (meaning YOU are my first priority).   Nursing is a work of the heart, and I feel photography is as well.     The joy and ease I always had capturing the special moments of everyone’s lives touched my heart. Your story is what I base my pictures on to capture the real you.   Over my life, I have started and stopped photography because life gets busy from time to time.   However, I am very dedicated and ready to make this a full-time labor of love for years to come. My goal is always to get to know the story of everyone being captured in the photos.     Meeting and getting my clients to relax with me makes my heart happy and allows me to take the best photos.


Most importantly, I want to capture the precious and important moments of your life.   Whether it is senior portraits, engagement photos, “just because” couple photos, family photos, maternity photos, or family reunions.   Capturing the special moments of informal family gatherings – the laughter from remembering the different memories in life.   I make sure to focus on the interactions with the elder members of the family to ensure the family has photographed memories that will last!   I am proud of the fact that I relate to people from all walks of life.  


I know we are all going through life struggles from time to time, myself included. However, our struggles shouldn’t mean you have to forfeit the right to capture important moments in your life due to cost.   Let me work with you on a case-by-case basis!

Fact 1

I was born in Pennsylvania, but have traveled most of my life!  I was always encouraged by my dad to, "see the world before it is too late."

Fact 2

Sneaking in pictures of my friends and family when in their element, is an old hobby of mine, so portraiture is like second nature to me.

Fact 3

I was never blessed with children of my own, but I have 2 fur babies that show me love and companionship every single day!  Nothing like walking in the door after a long day to fur "children" that are excited to see you and love you unconditionally! 

Fact 4

I can naturally connect to just about everyone.  I have experienced a lot in my life and I am very open-minded, so I can relate to most people and create a familiarity that increases the comfort  and laughter during a photo shoot.
